Fisherman’s Dream is a 465 square foot mural located at the West Stairwell inside the Monterey County Government Center on W. Alisal Street in Salinas. The mural depicts Monterey’s local history and culture around the fishing industry. Japanese take a magical ride inside an abalone vessel as they awe at the movement of sea life that surrounds them. Two large Salmon circle around them as a large school of sardines come swooping in around washed out images of the famous canning company and Point Pinos Lighthouse. The mural is painted with acrylic on dry wall, and required ladders, scaffolding and a scissor lift.
