Avelino Santoyo-Hernandez is a local, Bay Area artist. Born and raised in Mexico City, Avelino grew up influenced by artists in his community and began creating art at a very young age. His work is inspired by “life’s moments.” Having lived half of his life in Mexico and half of his life in the United States, his bicultural perspective produces bold, energetic and colorful pieces. He has many art works on display in Silicon Valley including the Chicano Center at Stanford University and at popular fine dining restaurants as well as casual taquerias exemplifying his philosophy that art should be accessible to all, in all walks of life. Avelino uses different techniques and has never attended art school.
